New Associate Advisers Join RSC London

Four new Associate Advisers will be working with the RSC London team in the New Year. Probably familiar names to many of RSC London’s supported learning providers, their services will augment our regional advisory support around the six key themes that we have been working on this year.

The four are Drew Burns, John Gray, Ron Mitchell and Sue Parker.

After a long career in education, Drew Burns has just retired from his post of Deputy Principal at Richmond Adult Community College and is still helping them in an advisory capacity with their new build project. Drew will bring this expertise into the region by helping to organise a New Build event in London being planned for May. He will also be available to visit colleges to provide some face to face advisory support for those who are currently planning projects of their own.

John Gray is ex Principal of Newark and Sherwood College and is now undertaking a PHD in e-Learning at the IoE. John will be helping to deliver our e-Progress Review and will be working directly with college management teams.

Ron Mitchell spent 17 years working at Tower Hamlets College, helping to develop their ILT capacity. During this time, he has become involved in most of the major e-learning initiatives, working nationally with the LSN, JISC, BECTA and JISC TechDis. Ron has helped to champion the ILT cause on both the regional and national stage and will be running a series of online “Are we ready for..” workshops looking at institutional responses to Mobile Technology, Web 2.0, and VLE development.

Sue Parker is another ex-FE Principal and most recently has been Regional Director of AoC London. Sue will be working directly with colleges to support their strategy development. This includes running a Strategy Development Workshop taking place at Greenwich Community College on the 4th February.

Further details of the advisory support available to London colleges are available on our website or directly from your institutions’ own RSC account manager.
