They always look sheepish because they know their management colleagues might be up to speed on their strategy initiatives but there is almost always a lack of attention placed upon communication of strategy to the whole organisation. However, the whole organisation is needed to deliver a successful strategy. I wish I had read something like this the first time I sat down to write a strategy! I particularly like the advice on writing collectively (avoid being isolated), and revisiting the document (continuous improvement). The advice to reference existing related strategies in the organisation is also key. As it stands there's not enough support for the additional modules and blocks we have on our 1.9 site and there seems to be a lot of issues with importing data from existing courses made in 1.9 into the new database system. I think when we do go to 2.0 we'll have to build from scratch, one for next year I think!
