Emerging Practice in a Digital Age: A guide to technology-enhanced institutional innovation is a newly published guide from JISC.

The guide is available at http://www.jisc.ac.uk/digiemerge.

To augment this guide, JISC infoNet is developing a Mobile Learning infoKit with version 0.1 of this resource now available at http://bit.ly/mobilelearninginfokit.

The Mobile Learning infoKit is a practical guide for educational institutions planning to implement mobile learning initiatives. At launch, it comprises a wiki-based resource collating information and guidance from JISC and others sources. It will develop to include a section on future trends, incorporate additional examples, and be made available in a variety of formats.

Mobile and Wireless Technologies Review from JISC infoNet

The review will inform the development of a new ‘Innovative Practice’ publication to build upon earlier ‘Innovative practice with e-Learning’ publications from JISC

This RSC London case study for the Excellence Gateway, focuses on the whole-organisation approach to improving teaching and learning at Lewisham College, and how through personalisation and mobile learning, this approach is being realised in practice.

  • clearer distribution of responsibility within the management of courses

London colleges helping to take mobile learning forward

The Learning and Skills Network announced the colleges who have made successful bids for MoLeNET phase 3 at the Handheld Learning Conference earlier this week.

The successful colleges for this next phase of MoLeNET will each lead a consortium. They include three from the London region, Ealing, Hammersmith and West London; West Thames and Working Men’s College.

Jill Attewell, project director for the LSN said, “We are determined to leave a lasting legacy in the use of mobile learning in further education and we will share the lessons learned across the whole sector.”

Mimas Mobile Learning: Telling Tales Conference

Registration is now open for the Mimas Mobile Learning: Telling Tales one day conference on 09 July at the University of Westminster. 

The day will showcase how mobile technologies are being used by teachers to enhance learning, both in the classroom and on the move. Aimed at teachers and lecturers, learning technologists or anyone using or thinking about using mobile devices in education.
